No one writes 'em quite like BERTOLT BRECHT...sure, "Mac the Knife" and "The Three-Penny Opera" get plenty o' play, but his "Stories of Mr. Keuner" is a treasure-trove of cynical yet brutally truthful little tales.

Halloween Treat from KPLU...
Got to have a blast hanging with the KPLU-crew, as the legendary Jazz station did their 3rd edition of "Jimmy Jazzoid", a live radio play staged at Seattle's Museum of History and Industry on 10/29/08...what a hoot! Live band, live sound effects, live audience, me reprising my role as 'The Announcer', and a great story from our Maestro, Dick Stein: This year, the film-noir DJ Detective went to Hell for the Election...how fitting!

What 'should' a Podcast be?
Hmmmm...so far, the answers are wide open.

Personally I like 'em with a little polish, the results showing that some care has gone into the making.

Here's a couple examples of the podcasts we put together for Microsoft and their 'Mobile Embedded Developers Conference' which took place May 10-14, 2005 in Las Vegas.

The idea was to document what was happening, who was there, and what they were talking and thinking about...a loose but informative supplement to the huge amount of conferences, tutorials, speeches, and seminars. AND to get it out, live, each day of the event... Video and audio-only podcasts. This was the first time we'd done it, and Microsoft had done it, and I think we made a pretty darned good start. Let's do some more!

Podcast for May 11, 2005: Dr. Neil Roodyn (of Roodyn.com) lays out the scene to Microsoft's Peter Grondal...and Ronald Van Der Botten of Intermec.

Podcast for May 12, 2005: Chris Muench (of Siemens) on working with Windows CE , talking with Peter Grondal and Michael Stein.

"Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil", AMAZING!

Do you suppose everyone who reads it wants to move to Savannah, GA. right away? The author describes it as a place that purposely doesn't engage with the outside world, preferring to keep its' own slow pace, and preserving the charms that have always been part of life there. At the very least, a visit sounds in order!
