Bio/About:
- I've been/am a Construction Worker, Bartender, Keith
Moon-clone, Radio DJ, Producer, Baker, Label Dude, and was also
Production Director at Fisher Radio Seattle, doing audio for Star
101.5, KOMO-AM, and the Seattle Mariners Radio Network...as well as
work for Microsoft, The Seattle Times, and a nice range of other
folks. I also bang around at Lucky Dragon, a studio in West
Seattle. Speak passable German (with a 'Schwabisch' accent), love
Tex-Mex, Drums, and vintage Cadillacs.
- I moved to Seattle in 1980, and got my degree (in
Communications and Journalism) at the University of Washington.
While there, I was on-air at KCMU, a 10-watt student-run station
that was the predecessor to todays' renowned KEXP. Also helped
start and host 'Audioasis', a local music/ performance show
there...and it's still on the air today!
Some other jobs were also a lot of fun:
- KYYX-FM, Seattle: First full-time radio job, at this "Rock of
the '80s" station owned by Pat O'Day. What a blast! Using the name
'Damien', I did the afternoon show (with news-partner Debbie Paine)
up 'til about mid-1984, when the station got sold and changed
format. I then did nights for a couple years at 'K-Plus FM'...which
is now 'Star 101.5'.
- THE MUSIC BUSINESS: Did promotion for Geffen Records in the
mid-late '80s, Polydor Records in the early '90s, what an
adventure! Helped get Peter Gabriel, Guns 'n Roses, Aerosmith, Cher
and others on the radio. A very EYE-OPENING ride.
